Two Camps and a Video

Pen-y-ghent & Plover Hill – Wild Camp #030

Since my last blog post we've only been able to get out camping twice due to the weather and other things getting in the way.

Our first trip was a 10 mile round-trip to Mossdale Scar just outside Grassington where there is a cave system some 6.5 miles long. We camped on the hillside above.

In 1967 six cavers were trapped inside the caves by flood waters, tragically, despite a mammoth rescue attempt, all six were later found to have drowned.

Our second outing was much tougher, climbing to the top of Pen-y-ghent, one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks before moving on to Plover Hill where we (ahem, my human) pitched the tent. The following day we had a long walk through some fabulous countryside on the way back to the car.

My human has started to get to grips with some video-editing software so that he can edit some of the video footage taken on our camping and hiking trips. He was also recently gifted a mini-drone by a random stranger, thank you AM 😉 and will hopefully be adding some drone footage soon.

In the meantime here's a little montage of a few of the photographs and video taken on our Pen-y-ghent wildcamp - clicking on the link will open the video on YouTube in a new window/tab.

The photos from each trip can be viewed by clicking on the links below:
