11.50 miles
This hike was to check out a possible wild camping spot somewhere in the vicinity of the Holder Stones between Cragg Vale and Walsden and to bag the trig point at Little Holder Stones which stands at 420m above sea-level. Along the way we stopped again at the Rain stone - a poem by Simon Armitage carved into a rock face and one of the six Stanza Stones.
It was a nice easy walk mostly along tracks and footpaths and we had some great views of Stoodley Pike along the way. We got to the trig point and found a few possible places where we could pitch the tent and so this is now on the ever-growing list of future wild camping destinations.
