If you watched the recent video of our hike to and wild camp on Lad Law you may remember seeing the Dove Stones across the moor from the summit. We decided at the time that we had to go for a wild camp there at some point and so, despite most of the hike being much the same as for the Lad Law wild camp, we set off to bag it last week.
It was a very warm day and the climb up to the trig point on Lad Law took quite an effort. Once we go there though the rest of the hike was a steady stroll - much to the relief of my human.
I had great fun exploring the huge rocks while the tent was being set up. We enjoyed a very peaceful evening not seeing a single other human at all and we were treated to a very nice sunset.
We both had an uninterrupted night sleep which is a rarity as we usually get woken up by rain, wind or just as a result of being uncomfortable. But not this time.
It was very misty when we woke up but by the time we had broken camp and were ready to start the hike back to the car the sun had made an appearance and was burning it all away.
This was a great camp at a great location and is one that we will come back to again before long.
