6.30 miles
A last-minute decision to get out for a wild camp left us not much time and without a definite pitch site in mind.
We headed for Pikedaw Hill near Malham but when we got there the ground wasn't suitable and it was exceptionally windy (see photos of me!). The area we had aimed for was far too exposed so we set off back down the hill looking for an alternative and opted for a spot that gave us a view of Malham Cove.
It was a very clear and cold night. My human spent a long time lying on his back with his head out of the tent looking at the stars and watching satellites passing overhead! Silly sod.
On the way back to the car in the morning I met some young Highland cattle, they were very friendly.
