Bagging the trig point on Lad Law (517m above sea-level) had been on my bucket list for a long time, it was on my human's too or so he said.
We finally made the effort and after parking near to Upper Coldwell Reservoir set off on a steady, gentle hike to the foot of Lad Law. Then it got steep. Very quickly. I was okay with it but boy, did my human struggle (he'll tell you he didn't but I know different). We passed a couple on their way down as we were nearing the summit and he pretended he wasn't out of breath.
We had the summit to ourselves... for ten minutes before an intruder came along. He didn't stay long though, disappearing soon after bagging the trig point himself. My human pitched the tent then played with his drone for a while before deciding we were both hungry.
We had a good, almost uninterrupted nights sleep and awoke to a cold morning. We had a tiny sprinkle of snowdust overnight but it didn't really amount to much. After breaking camp we had a nice steady downhill hike back to the car.
A very enjoyable camp and one we shall be doing again, possibly over the other side of Lad Law amongst the Dove Stones.
