Gorple Stones – Wild Camp #027

Heading in a different direction for this wild camp to visit a rock formation close to a reservoir. And in a new tent. Although the last one was like a bomb shelter my human just took too long to set it up and so after having to drop several hints I got him to get a new one. This one is lighter and a lot quicker to pitch which means I can get in the tent and onto my bed much sooner.

After a nice long hike we eventually arrived at the Gorple Stones and spent a while exploring the rocks and the general area. The only spot we could find that was suitable for pitching the tent was close to the footpath, not ideal but as it was unlikely to be used once it got dark we set up camp there.

Later in the evening, around 21:00 we spotted some lights through the tent wall... and they seemed to be getting closer. There was no sound that we could hear and so had no idea what they could be. After about five minutes we heard the sound of some bikes go past the tent and someone said "Is that John?" Bloody cyclists! At 21:00. In the pitch black. In the middle of (almost) nowhere. I ask you.
