30 March 2024
2.61 miles
As a warm-up to our first wild camp of 2024 I thought it would be a good idea take a short stroll up to the summit of one of the easier Dales 30 mountains.
It was a stroll because pretty much all of the height gain was achieved in the car. We only had to walk a mile or so along a track and up a small hill to get to the summit cairn. Easy peasy I told my human. And it was.
Neither of us broke a sweat and aside from the noisy gang on motocross bikes and a couple of dog walkers we enjoyed a rather peaceful walk in the warm sunshine. Then it was back to the car and on to Calf Top/Great Whernside for a somewhat tougher hike and a wild camp.
Oh, and my human managed to find a £2.00 coin in the middle of nowhere. Unbelievable!
